Default self-guild invite

Ever have someone join your guild, then leave after a few days? Or you get in a fight with a guildie, they leave, then ask to come back? Well it's only 100g but it does add up eventually. So my idea is to not get rid of the current guild invite system, but expand it to where the guild leader can or officers can send invites, but if someone wants to join a particular guild, they can spend the 100g and invite themselves (if they're not already in a guild). That way if they leave, it's money out of their pocket and not yours.

If you want to return to a guild just ask a member of it, any decent guild will be more than willing to fork over the 100g.

If this were implemented then some guilds would be probably bombarded with invites, but as it is now people can choose who they want in there guild at their leisure.

And come on, 100g isn't much, is it?

only reason why they have the 100g is because people spammed others without guilds to join there guild. by the end of the day you would have like 100 invites to guilds. i dont think people need to invite themselves but you could always just make sure they wont leave in a few days and return a week later asking to join.

So uhm, they invite themselves and then what? Automatically join the guild?

Can't afford the 100g, ask the invitee to pay 100g to you before you invite them.

Was that so hard to think of?

this will only cause havoc when 1000's of newbies or 1337 wannabes invite themselves to join top guilds.

i dont think the members of Delta Formation,Dark Alley,Whats Goin On,You Failed and so on would appreciate it much when their guilds and alliances are full of newbies posting wammo builds asking is this ok?

Why is it over half your suggestions are trying to save pennies? We're talking 100g here. Oh, it adds up? I guess that minute of "farming" 100g adds up too.

No I meant they'd have to pay for the invite but the guild leader or officer would have to approve the member, they couldn't auto-join. And to reduce spam, put a limit on the number of times a person can invite themselves to the same guild. Then if the guild wants that person to join, they'll have to send the invite.

Plus some guilds are intended to be private, in the long run. I bet lotsa noobs will go around invitespamming guilds because "ur cape looks kewl".

I don't quite see any advantage to this over the current system. Honestly, the way it is now is a slight deterance to rage quitting. And really I can make 100g just wandering around Ascalon for a few minutes, let along killing four or five critters outside of Lions Arch.

I just don't see any reason for this to be implemented, especially since it would be a pretty good amount of development work that could be better spent elsewhere.

If you feel someone isn't worth the 100g it costs to invite them, then is it really worth having them in your guild? Or ask to be compensated for it before/after the invite is sent.

Which means rather then having a guild leader(like from one of the top guilds) boot thousands of people a day, they'll have to go through a list rejecting thousands of people a day.

That's requires thinking. Some people are too lazy and stupid to go through the "pains" of collecting 100g afterwards.

Five minutes in Factions gets you 100g. (Which begs the question, why do people beg for 50 gold in Factions for storage?)

In the first place, if someone joins my guild only to bail a few days later, we certainly don't want them back.

Secondly, most reputable guilds have requirements (TS or vent, faction donations, etc.) & standards of conduct. I'm sure that they won't like being invaded by just anybody. Can you imagine the chaos this would cause for "trimmed" guilds? any guild worth it's salt will be well represented by officers who don't even blink at paying the 100g entry fee for new recruits.
